Hi guys and gals :)
Just a quick post on how I'm going. Well I've been a bit down and we all know that that means...
COMFORT FOOD! It's probably one of the best yet worst things ever. When you're bored you eat but it's never anything like a banana or something healthy it's always a bag of crisps or a bar of chocolate. Which means unnecessary and unwanted fats and sugars. Now I know that I'm not the best person to be taking advice off but I know what I'm on about as I have numerous friends that are personal trainers, rugby players etc, not to mention that my uncle is ex marines(so I do know what I am on about).
Well tonight for tea I am consuming sausage casserol :P Yummy
My mum has also just placed an order with an online company called musclefood. This company sells meat via the internet but it's not just like your bogstandard chicken, lamb etc they sell thing like osterich, crocodile, zebra etc. It's all really nice and although it's quite expensive(ish) it's deffinatley worth it if your're trying to gain size as the meats that are sold on the website are very high in protein and not that high in fats especially sat fats. Veg I'll probably suggest going to you're local supermarket because they stay fresher but if you support british farmers with fair prices go to a greengrocer in your local market or what not.
now as it is getting colder I suggest if anyone goes for early morning runs like me investing in some thermals or as the rugby teams call them 'skins'. They are basically skin tight tops and bottoms and are really good for keeping the cold out and the warm in. You can pick them up for about £10 for a decent top like I did. I went to m and m direct and it was a canterbury one and it has lasted me for ages. You can also pick them up from your local sports store such as Sportsdirect and JJB. I will also advise on getting a running partner especially if you're route takes you through the woods because it's always essential to be safe. For me it's not that much of a problem because I'm like 5'9" and of a pretty big build so I look pretty intimidating especially when running at a fast pace towards anyone. But I don't really see anyone out and about at that time on a morning.
I am also planning tomorrow's lunch and it will be a tin of tuna a jacket potato and some veg. I personally like mine with a bit of flavour to it and a friend of the family told me that if you use salt pepper and olive oil then mix up to make a paste then once the potato has been stabbed(to make holes) cover all of the potato in the paste you have made it makes the potato moist and the skin crispy but not too crispy. Also because the potato has become moist there is no need to put butter on.
